The Florida Department of Health is seeking a Vector-borne Disease Surveillance Coordinator. The Coordinator manages the Florida Department of Health human and animal arbovirus and tick-borne disease surveillance activities, maintains the Food and Waterborne and Vectorborne Surveillance System (FWVSS), analyzes data, distributes surveillance reports to Florida agency and university partners and the CDC, oversees the annual update of the Surveillance and Control of Selected Arthropod-borne Diseases in Florida Guidebook, maintains the program website and, together with the Medical Epidemiologist and State Public Health Veterinarian, directs program planning and grant management activities. He or she delivers trainings to internal and external stakeholders and presents data in written reports and orally at statewide and national meetings.

The Coordinator also has opportunities to assist with other Zoonotic Disease Program activities as well as epidemiological studies of non-infectious nature such as pesticide poisoning.
